1. Education Objectives
The main goal of the doctoral degree program in Materials Process Engineering is to nurture a high level of scientific research and innovative talent in students. The program aims to strengthen and improve the student’s scientific thinking, appreciation for engineering, fundamental scientific and theoretical knowledge as well as his or her research and applied computing abilities. Doctoral students must exercise their creativity and practice scientific thinking while independently pursuing their fundamental basic or applied scientific research. From the student’s education, he or she must be able to lead preliminary scientific research or technical development projects so as to be able to manage materials process engineering reseach projects, teach classes, advance technology and manage projects in the future. A doctoral education should impart a high degree of talent and ability in a student.

The total number of credits required for the completion of a doctoral degree is a minimum of 15, with at least nine credits of core courses, at least four credits of technical elective courses and two credits of required courses.
